GIS-Based Expert Knowledge for Landslide Susceptibility Mapping (LSM): Case of Mostaganem Coast District, West of Algeria

نویسندگان

چکیده

Landslides are one of the natural disasters that affect socioeconomic wellbeing. Accordingly, this work aimed to realize a landslide susceptibility map in coastal district Mostaganem (Western Algeria). For purpose, we applied knowledge-driven approach and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) Geographical Information System (GIS) environment. We combined landslide-controlling parameters, such as lithology, slope, aspect, land use, curvature plan, rainfall, distance stream fault, using two GIS tools: Raster calculator Weighted Overlay Method (WOM). Locations with elevated were close urban nucleus national road (RN11); both sites, registered presence strong water streams. The quality modeled maps has been verified ground truth Area Under Curve (AUC) Receiver Operating Characteristic curve (ROC). study results confirmed excellent reliability produced maps. In regard, validation based on ROC indicates an accuracy 0.686 for approach. AHP WOM showed high (0.753).

GIS-Based Landslide Susceptibility Mapping on the Peloponnese Peninsula, Greece

In this paper, bivariate statistical analysis modeling was applied and validated to derive a landslide susceptibility map of Peloponnese (Greece) at a regional scale. For this purpose, landslide-conditioning factors such as elevation, slope, aspect, lithology, land cover, mean annual precipitation (MAP) and peak ground acceleration (PGA), and a landslide inventory were analyzed within a GIS env...

GIS-Based Landslide Susceptibility Mapping by AHP Method, A Case Study, Dena City, Iran

Slope instability research and susceptibility mapping is a fundamental component of hazard management in decreasing the risk of living with landslides. Landslide susceptibility is defined as the proneness of the terrain to produce slope failures and susceptibility is usually expressed in a cartographic way. The Dena city in Iran is a landslide prone zone because of its own characteristics inclu...

Landslide Susceptibility Mapping for Subalpine Grassland Using Frequency Ratio and Landslide Index Model (Case Study: Masoleh Watershed, Iran)

Subalpine ecosystems are highly fragile as compared to biological andenvironmental factors. Landslide is one of the ruinous upshots of this ecosystem. One of theimpressionable areas in the cause of natural factor is Masoleh watershed in western AlborzMt, (Iran). In order to landslide hazard zonation, landslide index and frequency ratio methodbased on twelve causative factors such as slope, slop...

A GIS-based extended fuzzy multi-criteria evaluation for landslide susceptibility mapping

Landslide susceptibility mapping (LSM) is making increasing use of GIS-based spatial analysis in combination with multi-criteria evaluation (MCE) methods. We have developed a new multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) method for LSM and applied it to the Izeh River basin in south-western Iran. Our method is based on fuzzy membership functions (FMFs) derived from GIS analysis. It makes use of n...
